Step 1: Log in to Your HubSpot Account
- Navigate to the HubSpot homepage.
- Enter your login credentials and sign in.
Step 2: Access the Sales Hub
- From the main navigation bar, hover over "Sales."
- Select "Deals" from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Create a New Deal Pipeline
- Within the Deals dashboard, locate and click the "Add pipeline" button.
- Enter a name and description for the pipeline, which relates to the type of multi-stage deal you want to track (e.g., B2B Sales, Event Sponsorships).
Step 4: Define the Stages of Your Deal
- Inside the new pipeline, click on "Add stage."
- Name the first stage (e.g., "Initial Contact," "Proposal Sent").
- Assign a probability percentage to each stage. This represents the likelihood of a deal moving to the next stage.
- Repeat the process to define all stages of your deal, such as "Negotiation," "Contract Review," and "Closed-Won."
Step 5: Set Up Deal Properties (Optional)
- For deeper tracking, you can define specific properties for each deal stage.
- Click on "Manage properties" within the pipeline setup.
- Add relevant properties like deal value, contact person, expected close date, etc.
Step 6: Save Your Customized Pipeline
- Once you've added all desired stages and properties, click on the "Save" or "Finish" button.
Step 7: Add Deals to Your Pipeline
- Navigate back to the Deals dashboard.
- Click on "Add deal."
- Fill in the deal information, select your custom pipeline, and assign the deal to a stage.
Step 8: Monitor and Move Deals Through Stages
- As a deal progresses, manually move it from one stage to the next.
- Click and drag the deal card to its new stage or open the deal and select the new stage from a dropdown.
Step 9: Analyze Deal Progress
- HubSpot provides insights into how deals are progressing through each pipeline.
- Click on "Reports" in the main navigation.
- Select "Sales" and then "Deal Forecast" to view insights, or create custom reports based on your pipeline's data.
Step 10: Automate Deal Notifications (Optional)
- To stay updated on deal movements:
- Navigate to "Settings" from the main navigation.
- Go to "Notifications."
- Set up email or in-app notifications for deal stage movements, won deals, or if deals have been stagnant for a while.
