Step 1: Access Your HubSpot Account

  • Log in to your HubSpot account.

Step 2: Navigate to Sales Pipelines

  • Click on the "Sales" dropdown in the main navigation bar.
  • From the dropdown, select "Deals".
  • On the Deals page, locate and click on the name of your current pipeline at the top.

Step 3: Edit Your Pipeline

  • To the right of the pipeline name, click on the “Actions” dropdown.
  • Select “Edit pipeline” from the dropdown list.

Step 4: Review Current Stages

  • Observe the existing stages in your pipeline. These stages are represented as individual columns.

Step 5: Add a New Stage

  • Click on the “+ Add stage” button.
  • Name your new stage and add any other necessary details, such as the expected deal probability.

Step 6: Rearrange Stages

  • To change the order of stages, simply click and hold the drag-and-drop handle (usually represented by three horizontal lines) next to the stage name.
  • Drag the stage to its desired position in the pipeline order.

Step 7: Edit Existing Stages

  • If you need to modify an existing stage, click on the “Edit” button (often a pencil icon) next to the stage name.
  • Update the stage name or any other information as needed.

Step 8: Remove Unwanted Stages

  • If you need to delete a stage, click on the “Delete” or trash icon next to the stage name.
  • Confirm the deletion in the prompt. Note that deleting a stage will also delete all deals associated with that stage, so proceed with caution.

Step 9: Adjust Rotting Deal Settings (Optional)

  • For each stage, you can set a rotting deal duration. This will alert you when deals remain in a stage for longer than your specified duration without any activity.
  • To do this, click on the "Edit" button for a stage and set your desired rot duration.

Step 10: Save Your Changes

  • Once you've made all your desired modifications to your pipeline stages, click on the “Save” button at the bottom of the page to finalize your changes.

Step 11: Review and Test

  • After saving, review your updated pipeline to ensure all stages appear correctly.
  • Test the functionality of the pipeline by creating a sample deal and moving it through each stage, ensuring no issues arise.

Step 12: Inform Your Sales Team

  • Share the changes with your sales team. Provide any necessary training or documentation on the new stages to ensure consistency in use.
